Contact Me

I have been writing books on and off for a number of years. My first book on the PostgreSQL database system was accepted but never published, because five books on that subject hit the market just before mine was due! But I kept the advance.

I am married to a beautiful woman, and we have three lovely daughters, and a grumpy old dog.

I am trying to make a number of programs, stories, or other IP that I have created on the web for people to download.

Books:
You can find links to all my books available on Amazon Below.

I have a lot of Eclectic Interests and so I have gathered all of them together and blog about the research online. You can have a look at my blog. (click on the typewriter)

Projects

Blogging:

For Authors:
Track your books progress using this FREE system:
I have written a set of PHP scripts that emulate the system used at NanoWriMo for people to use during the off months when the NanoWriMo site is not available. This is located here. This system will track your word count each day as you write a novel, or other written word. It will give you stats, graphs, etc. It shows you how you are doing and gives you an easy way to show others how you are doing. Once you have started writting your book, then you can go to the stats page for that project and send the link to all and asundry. This more or less blackmailing yourself into doing the work.

I am a programmer not a graphics artists, so this website if very basic, and had to be rewritten to a different database, so if you see any errors let me know.

Programming:

I have written some java based applet games and I'll add the links when I find them.

The 10,000 Hour Challenge

What is it?

I have read a number of books that all agree that world class skills require about 10,000 hours of practice. For a normal 40 hour week this is 4.8 years, assuming you never have a week off!

I decided to challenge myself to become a world class author. You can read more about this on my blog post if you want.

The Rules of the Challenge

  1. No proceeding work shall count except re-working of incomplete stories since it helps me learn editing.
  2. All work has to be released under the Free Art License
  3. Hours only count after a completed work has been posted to the Internet.

The Results

You can track my progress by going to this page and read the stories I have done so far here. Subscribe to get my free stories emailed to you as soon as released.
